This is my most stressful time of year at the golf course. When the kids get out of school and we start up junior golf at Transit Valley C.C. Since I was given responsibility of the Junior Program at TVCC it has grown from around 120 kids to 200 or so junior golfers. We teach kids as young as 5 years old in our pee wee division up until they turn 18 years old. Each junior golf session we teach the kids a new golf skill. A lot of planning goes into each junior golf day and it is very important that my staff and all the people involved know what is going on. Without the great staff we have this year everything we accomplished this year already could go up in smoke. Again I am very lucky to have great guys and girls working around me. Our junior program also runs so well because we have all the parents support. They help out with our 3 hole division each junior golf lesson. Without them we would have to hire walkers to supervise these kids when they play 3 holes. Another great thing we implemented is half day golf camps. The kids love them and they learn a lot. I do get nervous about this time of year, but this year I feel great about it.
