The weekend before the Masters is full of exciting golf. The Shell Houston Open always has a great field. Hunter Mahan put on a good show to win the 2012 event. But there was some real drama on the LPGA at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the women’s first major. There were five players with a share of the lead on the final day. It came down to the final hole where I.K. Kim had a putt from 12 inches away to win the LPGA’s first major championship of the year. A 1 foot putt; everyone “gives” those to each other right, she should have just picked it up and grabbed the trophy.

Well guess what, there are no “Gimmes” in golf. I.K. missed the putt and raised her hand to her face as to say what just happened. She ended up losing on the first playoff hole to Sun Young Yoo, after Sun Young sank a 18 foot birdie putt. My heart feels for the 23 year-old Kim. How many times have we got over a 12 inch putt and just scooped it up with the back of our putter? There is one thing that I learned when I became a Professional Golfer, there are no “gimmies” in golf, you have to putt it in the hole.
